Near Ballum is the airport of Ameland: Ameland Airport.
From 1 November up to and including 31 March the port service of Ameland Airport is limitedly occupied and you need permission by phone first. Usually you get permission before arrival or departure. A flight plan or notification alone is not enough. This will end up in an unmanned tower.
From 1 April up to and including 30 October the port service is occupied daily from 09:30 until 19:00 local time. We ask you to report your flight at least 1 hour before arrival by phone or by fax.
