
Day of the Wadden 2025
In 2025, it will be 16 years since UNESCO declared the beautiful & unique Wadden area a World Heritage Site. Traditionally, we celebrate this on the last Saturday of June during the Day of the Wad.
On Saturday 28 June we will reflect on how special this area is by having breakfast at a very héél special place: the dike,

Taste the Wadden - breakfast on the dyke
Celebrate the birthday of Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and enjoy the állermost view in the world with a unique breakfast on the Wadden dyke. Looking out over the mud flats, you will enjoy a table full of local products. We take you into a story about Wadden Sea World Heritage. What makes the Wadden Sea so special that it has Unesco status? What does it mean? And what is the importance of the Wadden Sea on a global scale?
The breakfast starts at 8:00 am and lasts until 10:00 at the latest. After breakfast, you can explore the area around the dike with a guide and we will show you how special the Wadden nature is.

Clothing advice
The activity takes place ‘in the morning. Check the weather forecast in advance and bring enough (warm) clothes. During the second part of the programme you will go out to explore the mudflats. So don't put on your latest shoes, but go for an outdoor alternative. In bad weather, the programme will move to an indoor location. Breakfast will then also take place indoors.
