Welcome to "De Welvaart" on Wadden island Ameland!
In this beautiful historical building, built in 1662 as a commander's home in the centre of Hollum, you will find an interior that is completely in line with its exterior.
And that is not too difficult because this building has been used for making guests feel welcome ever since it was built.
It was once an inn as well as a hotel and more recently, basically since the last war, the building has served as a pub. A variety of natural colours and materials have been applied inside, which ensures that nothing looks unnecessarily modernised.
Imagine yourself in a pub setting from just after the war, but with the luxury of the present day. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly and relaxed. You will never feel that you are too much, in fact, you will sooner feel that you don't want to go home. And that is not a problem, since De Welvaart serves something to please everyone, from coffee with a slice of pie to dinner and late evening snacks. It means coming home, but then on Ameland.
Are you looking for a place where your holiday feeling truly comes to life? Where time just seems to pass a little slower and even the kids don't get bored? Then search no further, you have found us.
