Corn mill 'De Phenix' is an old grain and peel mill that still works perfectly, thanks to a thorough renovation.
The mill is located on a place where they already grinded in 1629. The mill actually dates back to 1880. The name already shows: the mill was built after its predecessor was struck by lightning during heavy thunderstorm and fully burned out.
In the mill, the visitor can make use of a musical discman tour.
Often rye will be broken and wheat will be crushed. The local baker processes this into lovely rye bread, which is part of the Ameland produkt.
