Ameland dune rabbit

The spacious island Ameland is a unique closed habitat where wildlife is regulated by the WBE - Ameland(wildlife management unit). The perfectly camouflaged graybrown dune rabbit with its characteristic little white tail can be found mainly in the dunes but also roams many gardens around bungalows and caravans.

The dune rabbits live on the island, since the island counts very few to no natural predators for dune rabbits, which means that hunters need to monitor the rabbit population. This meets a dual goal of keeping a healthy dune rabbit population and allowing you to enjoy dune rabbit as a truly delicious Ameland delicacy.
