
At the 'Kooiweg', just outside the most eastern village Buren, the brothers Martin and Petr Metz breed the African catfish. They do this in basins in which water is being circulated. By using a rough filter the water is being cleaned in a natural way. The Ameland catfish is being processed in own filleting- and smoke-house. After that the fish finds its way to various restaurants, fish shop Metz or supermarkets on the island.
