Ferry line Ameland
The crossing to Wadden island Ameland takes about 50 minutes.
As foot passengers, you buy your ticket online or at the ticket machine in the terminal. In doing so, you book a date and time for the outward and return journey. You can easily change or cancel the tickets online up to 1 hour before departure.

To Ameland by bicycle, motorbike, car and caravan
Taking a bicycle, motorbike, car or caravan to Ameland? Then a reservation must be made. Tip: do this well in advance due to the available space on the boat. Reservations can be made online or by calling 003188-1031000. Please have your license plate number and dates of your outbound and return journey ready for the call. 

You can reach the booking line Monday through Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00 and on Sundays between 09:00 and 15:00 (only by phone). 

With group discount to Ameland
Are you coming with a group of at least 15 persons? Then it is financially attractive to book in advance (by calling Wagenborg Passenger services on 003188-1031000 or online). If you call from the Netherlands, you can reach Wagenborg Passenger Services on 0900-9238. You will be eligible for a group discount of 10% off the normal tariff, excluding tourist tax.

Conditions for group discount:
You will have to register the group (minimum of 15 persons) at least seven days before departure. The group as a whole has to be present on time (meaning 30 minutes before departure). The group needs to make the crossing together.

Is your group coming to Ameland with their own bikes? Please confirm this during your reservation. 

*Holwert (Holwerd): The ferry to Ameland departs from Holwert, a small village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslan. From January 1, 2023, Holwert is officially spelled with a 't' and no longer with a 'd'.
